Ciao a tutti, recentemente ho avuto un problema di riavvii improvvisi del sistema causati da ram malfunzionanti. Ho quindi sostituito i due vecchi moduli con due nuovi identici da 1 GB l'uno configurati in modalità dual channel sugli slot appropriati; Il problema è che sia windows XP SP3 che il bios "vedono" solo 1 GB di memoria! I moduli sono installati correttamente perché CPU-Z li rileva entrambi. Premetto che ho verificato l'impostazione "memoria massima" in msconfig, mentre il mio bios non prevede la voce per il remapping degli slot di ram. Spero di non aver trascurato nulla...di seguito tutte le specifiche del mio sistema nel dettaglio. Qualcuno può darmi un consiglio? Grazie!

Spero di non dare uno stupido suggerimento, ma il BIOS lo hai resettato prima delle nuove RAM?

Ciao fax71ita, devo togliere il ponticello di contatto sul CMOS e rimetterlo?

Stacca corrente, stacca i cavi di corrente che vanno alla scheda madre.
Tieni premuto qualche secondo il pulsante di accensione PC.


Togli le RAM.

Stacca la batteria tampone(a forma di moneta) e cambia ponticello in base alle istruzioni della tua MB.

Rimonta le RAM,
Rimonta la batteria tampone.
Rimetti i cavi corrente alla MB.
Riavvia il PC.

Entra nel bios, Correggi data e ora
Metti come primo boot HD con s.o

Questo è quello che farei sul mio pc

Se metti una sola RAM te la vede per intero o solo meta'?
Se non siete sicuri di quello che scrivete, non scrivete niente, nessuno vi obbliga ed eviterete di confondere chi gia' e' confuso. Ciao..ciao

Ok, alcuni di questi passaggi li ho già provati...ora proverò anche a scollegare la batteria e a riposizionare il ponticello.
Ho tolto la seconda ram e la rimanente viene letta per intero normalmente (prima avevo due moduli da 256 e venivano rilevati entrambi). Ciao :)

prova con 4 da 512mb, perhcè forse la mobo non digerisce il taglio da 1gb

non saprei, fattele sostituire , poi bisogna vedere...probabilemtne la mobo legge 2gb con moduli da 1gb di frequenza minore, tipo le pc1600
