Mercury Computer Systems ed IBM hanno affermato di voler integrare un microprocessore basato su tecnologia Cell nei computer utilizzata per applicazioni che fanno un enorme uso dei dati. Mercury è la prima compagnia fuori dall´elettronica di consumo ad utilizzare le CPU Cell.
